Springfield law firm Egan, Flangan and Cohen is proud to announce that Stefan R. Sjoberg, Esq. has joined the firm. Attorney Sjoberg is experienced and focuses on a variety of practice areas including mergers and acquisitions, real estate, general corporate counsel, and other transactional matters.

Attorney Sjoberg began his legal career in western Mass after graduating from Western New England University School of Law. Shortly after COVID began, he moved to a law firm in Hartford focusing his practice on mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and general corporate counsel. After years of working in Connecticut, and upon starting a family with his wife Alison, Attorney Sjoberg decided that he wished to return to the western Massachusetts legal and business market where his career began.

Expressing his enthusiasm on the move, Attorney Sjoberg stated, “Springfield is near and dear to my heart. I was  born and educated in the area, and my family has roots in the greater Springfield area dating back to the 1960s. I am excited to help the members of our community with their transactional and corporate needs.”

Over his legal career, Attorney Sjoberg has closed hundreds of deals, including real estate transactions, both  commercial and residential, of all sizes including nine-figure syndicated loan facilities.

“Our corporate team offers an ‘external general counsel’ service to companies and non-profits to provide on-demand advice and counsel support for transactions and everyday corporate advice,” said the firm’s managing partner, Michael G. McDonough. “Stefan will provide us significant depth in that area.”

The firm’s transactional group has grown in recent years both in its size and ability to adeptly handle transactions, real estate needs, corporate formations, governance, maintenance, and other corporate or transactional needs.

Attorney Sjoberg will be working alongside fellow corporate attorneys Katherine Day, Esq., Kylie Brown, Esq., and Matti Tacy, Esq. “Stefan’s experience, in transactions in particular, will be valuable to our current and future corporate and real estate clients,” added Katherine Day, the chair of the firm’s corporate department.

Attorney Sjoberg began working at Egan, Flanagan and Cohen in November of this year and is currently taking new clients. A consultation with Attorney Sjoberg or any EFC attorney can be coordinated by calling (413) 737-0260 or by emailing Attorney Sjoberg direct at srs@efclaw.com.
